Day 51 Theme #173 Lots & Lots & Lots

Swans in Naragansett Bay, originally uploaded by needlepointernc.

There were LOTS & LOTS & LOTS of swans in Naragansett Bay today. It was cold and windy and I didn’t have gloves, so I didn’t stay out too long taking pictures. There were a lot of ducks and seagulls in the water too. This was taken on the Warwick side of the bay.

Love how the mud is actually colored blue by the reflections…really makes this photo wonderful and especially nice with the little orange accents of beaks.

I don’t think I’ve seen that many swans in one place before! Great color and composition.

The bluish reflection from the sky onto the ground really makes the swans pop! Poor things out in the cold foraging for food and up to their knees in mud.

Great colours and contrasts in this shot, love how some of the swans seem to be picking their way across the mud.

Super sharp image, and the blue color coming off the sand really makes them stand out!

I like the way you’ve intensified the colors–it makes the seans stand out, highlighting the different postures of the swans.

Awesome!! I didn’t know they traveled in flocks like this.

My friends Mother lives across the road from where I took this picture. They said that in the warmer weather that there are a lot more swans there. It was mighty cold out! They don’t seem to mind 🙂

What a pretty group these make and the image is made that much nicer by the reflections in the water. It’s kind of a breath of spring for me….
