Day 1 Theme 27 Body Parts

1 01 2011

Dent in Our Car, originally uploaded by needlepointernc.

The BP gas station on Six Forks Road in Raleigh also has a wine shop. We stopped on the way home from Duke with Chris and Kevin so they could check out the wine. While Chris and I waited in the car, a woman came out of the Vet Clinic with her dog and proceeded to smash into the side of our car. This is a picture of the Body Parts that will need to be repaired. She said she didn’t see us… duh you think? In NC you have to call the police and wait for them to come. We were outside city limits so the State Police came. The woman who hit us was driving a fleet car from GlaxoSmithKline.

What a way to start the new year! However hopefully that is the worst thing you have to deal with in 2011 and you got a theme out of it!

So very sad. Here’s hoping 2011 brightens up for you!

Oh bummer… the year can only get better. Good documentation of the incident in a well composed image. The black and white add to the mood.

The woman must’ve been in shock by her vet bill! Now I’ll know another reason why the price of drugs continues to rise. You did a great job multitasking with your photography skills.

Not the kind of photo you want to start with, but now you’ve got it documented. Hope your New Year improves from here!

What some poeple will do to fill a theme, LOL I know not a laughing matter, glad to hear it will be repaired for you.

Certainly not the best way to beging the new year! But yo uhad the presence of mind to take a photo that is not just documentary but well composed, and which a=has a certain elegance in B&W.

What people do to get an image! 😉 Sock it to the pharmaceutical company, for they have more than decent profits.

I’m sorry your year started this way but it onward and upward from here!!

What a pain in the side! Maybe now that you’ve gotten the car dent out of the way, the rest of the year will be safe and uneventful.

Ouch! We just finished repairs to our car from a rear-ender. AND, in a second incident, our son had $8,000 damage to his car and we had to replace our garage door due to a drunk driver jumping the curb, and slamming into our son’s car in our driveway. I’m looking forward to 2011 as the “year of less drama!”

Had to look twice at the pic before I realised how it fitted in with the theme..duh! too much Bailey’s and not enough sleep!
Glad you are all ok, and hope the damage wont cost too much to repair!

It won’t cost us anything cause it was her fault! And her insurance will be paying for a rental car and new tires cause the dent scrapped the tire as we drove it home 🙂

Driving, Drinking and Drugs, what a potent mixture, bound to have turned out bad. Sorry but as long as you are safe – It is only a car! This theme has me worried though and you found a good way out of it! Better New Year than the start.

So sorry, what a way to start out the New Year!!! All this for some bottles of wine 😦

On the bright side, your bad luck created a great start to your blog…..

Amazing how many people don’t look as they back out of a parking spot. And then expect us to accept that “excuse.” It’s always great to start the New Year with a “bang.” (Sorry couldn’t resist.)

She couldn’t see you? LOL! The woman needs glasses. Good capture for your insurance claim. Hope 2011 treats you better from now on out.

Not a good way to start the New Year!
