Day 313 365 Photos Theme #182 Memories of Childhood

Memories of Childhood, originally uploaded by needlepointernc.

Piles of leaves produce MEMORIES OF CHILDHOOD. We used to rake all of the leaves in the yard into big piles and then we could jump in them! We would walk home from school and shuffle our feet through the leaves on the sidewalk. We could pick up horse chestnuts too! The little boy across the street has been raking the leaves into a pile all week.

Me, too! I shuffled through a mound of oak leaves on my walk the other day and resisted the urge to make a pile.

I have happy memories of doing the same thing, matter of fact, we all went over to rake my parent’s yard (where I grew up – their backyard is Fontenelle Forest in Bellevue) last week and all of us had fun jumping in the leaves! 🙂
